WHAT IS A FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER?
A Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), is a registered nurse (RN) with advanced training in diagnosing & treating injury and illness. FNPs perform physical examination, order and interpret diagnostic tests, treat illnesses, care for acute injuries, and prescribe medication. A focus on self-management, preventive health care, and education are the recognizable factors of FNPs that set them apart!
